With day one wrapped up at SLTV StarSeries IX Finals in Kiev, we've compiled a few pictures to highlight some of the day's best performers beyond our usual statistics.
Opening day saw Natus Vincere upset Ninjas in Pyjamas 2-0 to start the day, followed up by Titan overcoming Virtus.pro with a similar 2-0 score in the second first round match.
Statistics for each best-of-three have been up in our match recaps since the games finished, but now we have also put together a few photos to highlight the day's better performers.
As you can see above, Titan's new recruit Kenny "kennyS" Schrub had an impressive day, with him and teammate Nathan "NBK" Schmitt contributing to 77.4% of Titan's rounds.
One should also not forget Natus Vincere's Denis "seized" Kostin, whom many expected to be the breakout star of 2014 in our top player articles in January, who finished with the best rating for the first day.
Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom was the headshot king so far, on top of each aiming category, while Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács was equally dominant with the AWP, also topping all three.
Above is a player-by-player breakdown of Na`Vi in today's match against NiP. Statistics for the best-of-three are available here, but this photo should give a better idea of just how each player contributed beyond pure frags.
In terms of getting at least one kill or an assist, Kovács actually trumps Kostin as Na`Vi's top performer. When surviving the round is included, Sergey "starix" Ischuk comes out on top.
Given the same breakdown for Titan, you can see that Schrub got at least one kill or an assist on 80% of all rounds the French-Belgians won. Adding survival to the count, it goes up to 94%.
Benrlitom and Schmitt weren't much worse, and even in-game leader Kevìn "Ex6TenZ" Droolans, who struggled with kills, often stayed alive. Statistics for their series against Virtus.pro are here.
Who do you think were today's top performers? Who will thrive tomorrow? Tune in starting at 15:00 with NiP versus Virtus.pro, followed up by Titan against Na`Vi at 18:30 .
